hannah's last day at poppyseed lane

in approximately one hour and eighteen minutes hannah and i are leaving for burbank airport so she can fly first to phoenix, then to albuquerque and finally to dallas. she came for an easter visit and on this last day, i confided to her that i enjoy reading blogs. she encouraged me to make my own, and while i find them silly and self centered, here i am.

party.

this morning we were going to tye dye t shirts, but that fell through. so we attempted a blueberry peach crumble instead. here it is in all its deliciousness. we are very happy with the results, except for the burnt walnuts. i think it even rivals my recent experiment with apple gruyere pie (inspired by pushing daisies).

also this weekend we went to see how to train your dragon. being the fantasy and childrens movie fanatic i am, i HIGHLY recommend it. immediately upon returning home i bought the score and have been listening to it constantly. it is the perfect melding of epic and celtic music. two of my favorite things. the best tracks are romantic flight and test drive.

Here is the films hero, Hiccup, and his pet dragon Toothless. He looks vicious here, but for most of the film he reminds me of my cat napoleon. and napoleon is one of those cats that people that don't care much for cats like.

Here is Napoleon, the more playful of my two cats. He fell asleep like this one day.
