i am currently coveting and obsessing over these two dresses,the first is keira knightley in the movie atonement. i adore all of her costumes in it, but when this dress comes on the screen i come close to dying. on a side note, atonement is top five in my list of favorite movies. every scene elegantly sweeps into the next. each shot is beautifuly and inventively arranged. the performances are moving and deep. the score is absoluetly perfect. and of course, the costumes are stunning. that's me trying to talk elegantly about movies and most likely sounding silly. agh. whatever. love it.

the second is carey mulligan in an education. this one is on my top ten. i've been looking for a similar vintage or otherwise inspired dress onilne all day and am having trouble, because i am hopelessly in love with this one. nothing else suffices. (again, every piece she wears in the the film i adore).

these are also two of my favorite actresses. and the same director worked on atonement as well as the one movie i never tire of, pride and prejudice (again with keira..... and carey..). my tastes don't vary much, do they?

ah well, i like what i like and that's brunette british actresses in visually inspiring and period films. wearing pretty dresses.
